Marko Pogachnik and his Lecture Marathon
The Lecture Marathon contains 3 45 minute lessons with a 15 minute break between them. The themes are:
- Transformations of the Slovenian OHO movement 1963-1970 and the significance of that movement for the modern era.
- The Commune in Šempas 1970-79 in the sign of connecting art and agriculture and the concept of the "third art".
- What is happening to the Earth in times of climate change, the quantum leap in terrestrial space, and the role of natural intelligence in this process.
During the breaks, you can enter or leave the marathon
Marko Pogachnik was born in 1944 in Kranj, Slovenia. He is one of the founders of the movement and group OHO and the commune Druzina Šempas. In the mid-1980s, he developed a model of healing natural and urban spaces based on lithopuncture by placing stone pillars with carved cosmograms as acupuncture needles at certain points in the vital-energy system of space. In 2016, UNESCO awarded him the title of Artist for Peace. He designed the national coat of arms of the Republic of Slovenia. Pogačnik is a donor to the collections of the MSU with a series of drawings from the Druzina Šempas and the "Monument to Nature", a site-specific installation in the park in front of the MSU Skopje.
